Hone your scene work with this focused two-person-scene intensive led by Bob Fisher, who has been improvising since 1985. Before moving to Reno, Bob taught advanced improvisation classes at Annoyance Theatre in Chicago. This class is all about reps, precision and personalized feedback, giving improvisors practical tools they can apply in both short form and long form. Each week, students will explore strong scene openings, emotional clarity, grounded characters and acknowledging what’s happening right at the top of the scene. Bob emphasizes variety, specificity and choices that respond to your partner and the moment. Perfect for improvisors who want to deepen their craft, expand their range and build confidence through consistent, supported practice. Registration fees due by August 10, 2026. This class culminates in a showcase, on Tuesday, October 6 at 7 PM, where students demonstrate what they have learned before a supportive audience of family, friends and fellow improvisers. Prerequisites: Levels 1, 2 and 3 or instructor approval NOTE: Students who miss two or more classes may be ineligible to participate in the Student Showcase. This class is for adults 18+. Retaking this class? We’re giving priority enrollment to students who are taking Scene Study for the first time. If you’re interested in retaking the class, please email education@renoimprov.org to be added to the retake waitlist. If space remains after new student registration, we’ll contact you in the order requests are received.
