Headliner Steve White Steve White is leaving his mark on stages and screens big and small, telling the truth, taking jabs and turning heads in every chapter of his acting, screenwriting, and comedic career. With five Spike Lee films under his belt, including “Do the Right Thing,” “Get on the Bus,” “Mo’ Better Blues,” “Clockers,” and “Malcolm X,” the film in which he also served as Spike’s Director Trainee, Steve’s presence is unmistakable – and he learned from the best. Growing up in Roosevelt, Long Island, Steve’s journey began with a big break from his hometown buddy, Eddie Murphy, in “Coming to America,” paving the way for roles in “Harlem Nights,” “Ford Fairlane,” “Other People’s Money,” and the Robert Wuhl-directed “Open Season.” He also clinched “Best Actor in a Feature Film” for his portrayal in “Skin Deep” at the 2003 American Black Film Festival. TV audiences know him as the first Black announcer on “The Price is Right,” as a guest host on the legendary show “Soul Train,” for appearances on “Martin,” “The Jamie Foxx Show,” “Phil of the Future,” “Living Single,” “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” and a recurring role on “Hanging with Mr. Cooper.” Steve’s stand-up chops go even deeper, leaving an impression on stages from Comedy Central and Def Comedy Jam to An Evening at the Improv, Comic Strip Live, MTV’s “Half Hour Comedy Hour,” NBC’s “Late Night,” and “The Arsenio Hall Show.” In New York, Steve first cut his teeth, finding his unfiltered voice in comedy, by “snappin’” on the street corner with his friends. An English teacher recognized his talent and urged him to try stand-up at one of the local clubs. He was hooked – and so were his audiences. After graduating from Adelphi University, he put away the pens and pursued comedy and acting. Steve moved to Los Angeles in 1994 and started studying with now-famous acting teacher Larry Moss, who he knows to this day. Beneath Steve’s smile, there’s an epic whirlwind of killer timing, truth bombs and punchlines… and nothing is off limits, especially on his new stand-up tour, “Why Aren’t You Mad?”
