Alone in her house after her only child leaves home for college, Vicki becomes convinced her home of over two decades is haunted by its tragic past. In attempt to escape, she embarks on Swedish Death Cleaning, a ritualistic sacrifice of her belongings. She plans to move to an apartment in downtown LA and to turn back the clock to life in her 20's. This proves harder than expected when the many prints and carvings of race horses summon dark forces. Aided by the protective spirits of headless naked women her kid drew in art class, she confronts darkness with light. "Race Horses and Naked Ladies" is the story of what's left behind when a loved one dies by suicide and how to build a future by embracing your past. Vicki Juditz has written, produced, and toured with several one-woman shows. For "Teshuvah, Return", about her journey to Judaism, she received a DRAMA-LOGUE AWARD, an LA WEEKLY nomination for Best Female Solo Performer, and an OVATION AWARD nomination for BEST WRITING OF A WORLD PREMIERE. Other solo shows include "Life After Life", "Where Do Babies Come From?", "Solo at the End of the World", "Last Humans on Earth", and finally "Sacred Resistance" which ran for six months at the Jewish Women's Theatre to rave reviews. She has performed her true, personal stories at theaters and festivals across the country and beyond, including the Aspen Laugh Festival, the National Storytelling Festival in TN, the Toronto International Storytelling Festival, the Jewish Arts Festival of Hong Kong, the USA Today's Storytellers Project, and Story Collider Los Angeles. She won the 2021 Ladies of Laughter Storytelling Competition. Her stories have aired on the RISK! Podcast and KCRW's UnFictional. She has won many Moth StorySLAMs and a Moth GrandSLAM; her story "Dancing at Joe's" aired on The Moth Radio Hour.
