Rise ComedyDenver, CO
About
This class will skip 7/5 to accommodate for 4th of July weekend. Stand-Up Level 4 is where serious comics sharpen their voice, refine their act, and turn good jokes into undeniable material. This class blends targeted weekly writing drills, purpose-driven rewrites, and onstage reps every week. You’ll learn how to elevate your point of view, trim the fat, and land punchlines with clarity and control. Each week you’ll receive: A focused writing exercise that attacks one professional skill (premise tightening, subtext, rhythm, tags, misdirects, emotional POV, host sets, closing sets, storytelling momentum, etc.) Stage time to run new or revised material in front of the class Structured feedback from Christie + peer insights using Level 4 frameworks Rewrite templates & mini-labs to move jokes from “draft” to “club-ready” Perfect for comics who already know the basics and want accountability, structure, and expert-eyed coaching to polish their next 5–10 minutes. You’ll leave this class with a cleaner set, a clearer voice, and repeatable tools you can use for every joke you write moving forward. Student Showcase: 8/16 Prerequisite: None! All skill levels are welcome! Instructor: Christie Buchele is an accomplished standup comic from Denver, Colorado. Making a name for herself by sharing the heart-wrenching and hilariously raw realities of being a woman with a disability. Christie has been featured on Viceland’s, Flophouse; Hidden America with Jonah Ray; Laughs on Fox; First Look on NBC.
